Chose to Serve

It's early In the morning, it's almost time for the sun to rise and the Lord is dead. Yet, somewhere in their broken hearts, they know they have to do something.

They know that Jesus is the Messiah but they also know what they witnessed....they saw Jesus brutally beaten and crucified on the cross.

So, what now? How do they reconcile what they believe and what they know? Have you ever been there?

And he took it down, and wrapped it in linen, and laid it in a sepulchre that was hewn in stone, wherein never man before was laid. ... - Luke 23:53

You know that moment that you really needed the Lord to show up but it seemed like He was nowhere to be found! The moment when all you could do was trust in His faithfulness, believing that every promise is true, even when you couldn't see it or feel it. On the days when things don't feel good and nothing seems good, what do you do?

We can learn a lot from the women in the Bible and on this day, these women decided that they may not understand what just happened and they may not be able to explain this turn in events but what they could do was serve.

They may not have been able to minister to the Lord at His death and they may have had to wait in reverence to the two holy days that followed, but they already knew that even in death, they would serve Him.

And they returned, and prepared spices and ointments; and rested the sabbath day according to the commandment. Luke 23:56

Now upon the first [day] of the week, very early in the morning, they came unto the sepulchre, bringing the spices which they had prepared, and certain [others] with them. - Luke 24:1

They went early that morning, before daybreak, to honour their Messiah. They had not created a plan as to how to get into the tomb. They knew the stone was too heavy for them, but in their hearts, they were determined that somehow, some way they would figure it out. And as we know, when they arrived the Lord had already rolled back the stone to let these women be the first to see... the good news!

And they said among themselves, Who shall roll us away the stone from the door of the sepulchre? And when they looked, they saw that the stone was rolled away: for it was very great. And entering into the sepulchre, they saw a young man sitting on the right side, clothed in a long white garment; and they were affrighted. And he saith unto them, Be not affrighted: Ye seek Jesus of Nazareth, which was crucified: he is risen; he is not here: behold the place where they laid him. - Mark 16:3-6

Today, you may have little to offer, you may feel like all hope is lost and you don't know what is next....but what if today you just offered what you do have based on what you do know... a heart full of praise in the midst of uncertainty because you know He is faithful. Decide to serve Him in the hard and impossible places especially when none of it makes human sense and the Lord will meet you there.

Give Him Praise! Knowing He is faithful, He is truth, He is loving, He is kind and most importantly....

He is Alive!!!

Ephesians 3:19-21

And to know the love of Christ, which passeth knowledge, that ye might be filled with all the fulness of God. Now unto him that is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that worketh in us, Unto him be glory in the church by Christ Jesus throughout all ages, world without end. Amen.
